Kahoa makes Kahoa, one of the alternatives here. TownSq is scored with the same HSAT as every other tool, and every claim links to its source.

What is TownSq?

TownSq is a community app and management platform sold mostly through management companies. Residents use the TownSq app to pay dues, send requests and read announcements.

TownSq's payments run through ATG Pay, a separate processor, and TownSq's full accounting comes from C3 on the Enterprise plan. TownSq prices its Pro and Advanced plans by community size.

Who should stay on TownSq?

  • Your community uses TownSq's resale and document services.
Leaving TownSq

How do you switch from TownSq?

  1. Ask TownSq support what owner, balance and document exports it can provide before you give notice.
  2. Get the accounting records from your management company or C3.
  3. Load them into the new tool, invite owners, and run both for one dues cycle.

What else do boards ask about TownSq?

Does TownSq do HOA accounting?
Only on TownSq's Enterprise plan, through C3. TownSq's Pro and Advanced plans cover communication, requests and payments, not the books.
How much does TownSq cost?
TownSq Pro costs $90 a month up to 300 homes, $180 up to 900 and $270 above that. Violations, architectural requests on Pro, and voting cost extra.
Do homeowners pay fees on TownSq?
Yes. TownSq's processor, ATG Pay, charges about $1.50 per bank transfer and about 3.5% + $1–$3 per card payment, and TownSq doesn't publish these centrally.
Can a self-managed HOA use TownSq?
Yes, but TownSq is built around management companies. A self-managed board on Pro still needs another tool, or Enterprise, for the books.
